Daniel Kreiss has been a New York City resident and architect for over 15 years. In that time, he has cultivated a diverse portfolio, including budget-conscious public school renovations, high-end office interiors and ground-up apartment construction. Since becoming a Registered Architect in New York State, Daniel has founded his own firm with a focus on personal residential projects.
Daniel is committed to bringing your goals to life in the home you live and work in every day. His services will provide guidance and support through every step of the project. DesignationDK offers drafting services to external teams to help meet project deadlines and produce technical documents in AutoCAD and Revit.
Featured Work
An 1,100 square foot addition to an existing country house for entertainment and relaxation.
This project started with a core concept from the clients which we fleshed out to meet their goals. We worked through a process of producing design options and focused meetings analyzing and conforming the design choices to the clients wishes. We envisioned how they will live in the space and worked out an office, large living space with kitchenette, loft, bathroom, and additional laundry room for ease of enjoying the new pool. We oriented windows and large sliding glass doors toward the best views, to let in ample daylight, and open up the room to outdoor dining and lounging areas around the pool.
Pool House Addition
A renovation of a small city apartment kitchen of 100 square feet.
These clients love cooking, baking and entertaining. They bought an apartment with a cramped existing kitchen that was not serving them. We worked out several possible layouts rearranging walls and doors as well as appliances and cabinets to make the kitchen larger and more functional. After reviewing multiple design options, we pinpointed the arrangement that would make their kitchen work best for them and impress their guests. We focused on durable, cabinet construction and gorgeous, resilient finishes to achieve an upgrade to their apartment that increased their home's value.
Kitchen Renovation
A renovation of a half-bathroom and storage room of 60 square feet.
This client wanted to update and simplify the back area of their new home. We revitalized an old powder room with new fixtures and finishes. The rear vestibule was rearranged and given a larger back door and window to increase daylight. The space was streamlined for simplified circulation and increased function.
